What does this mean?

RSS is a type of news feed and (possibly) stands for Real Simple Syndication

What is a News Feed?

A news feed is a clever way of keeping track of when websites have new content and is useful if you tend to browse several websites.  Using this feature will save you having to check each individual website for fresh content.

What do I do now?

To access a news feed you will need to use a news reader.  Click on the RSS Subscribe button on our website and follow the instructions you are given.  For instance if you use Internet Explorer a new page will open where you can click on “Subscribe to this feed”.  Rename the feed “UDB” and click on “subscribe”.  You will now be able to access this feed through your Favourites Centre (press Alt + C or click on the star icon).

There are many other news readers available such as directly through the Mozilla Firefox web browser or www.google.com/reader. 

By subscribing to various new feeds you can effectively create your own personalised website, free from unwanted advertising, and save time browsing numerous different websites.
